Your Actions Reveal Who You are Controlled By!

The Bible –Good News Translation

Romans 8:5-6

5Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human nature wants. Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants. 6To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace.

Thoughts:

I believe that anyone thinking straight and reflecting on their life would probably say that they have made a lot of decisions based on what they want; to make themselves happier; richer or more comfortable. Now, to switch gears and truly respond to the question of whether you are a Christian or not, I believe would depend on whether you can ultimately respond that your life is so aligned with your Lord and Savior that you make decisions based on what His Holy Spirit leads you to do. Some might respond that they must be a Christian because they were told by their parents about a time in their life when, as a child, they raised their hand with all the other children in Bible school (that they were forced to attend every week) and they accepted Jesus as their Lord! Friends, if my marriage was only as good as the day, 39 years ago, when I said I do, would you say that I truly make decisions for the benefit of my wife and I? Because I have totally committed my whole self to that relationship and I work on it daily, I make decisions that first of all please my wife, then perhaps that might please myself. Likewise, if you have personally invited Jesus into your heart, and you daily work on that relationship with Him through prayer (your conversation with God), digging into His Word (so that you may learn His will and character and listen to His responses to your prayers) and, make your decisions based on what you discern from God and that would please Him, then I believe that you have a real, active, living relationship with Jesus, and one that will lead to life and peace, as indicated in verse 6. If you do not have this latter type relationship that I spoke of, then you may very well fall under the first option mentioned in verse 6 – you are controlled by your human nature that results in eternal death. There is no middle ground friend. The Bible is clear – you either know Him personally and you have the promise of eternal life with Him and peace forevermore; or you are convinced that you are in control of your life – knowing that you will face eternal death in Hell with Satan and his angels. Given the options, I believe that the choice is easy and very clear, friend. Why not meet with a local, Bible Teaching pastor or church leader today, or contact me using the email address below, so that we may work, and pray with you and help you make the most important decision of your life?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, You have declared in Your Word that Your choice would be that none should perish, but that all Your children are precious in Your sight. And because You sacrificed Your life for the redemption of our sin, You would really like to see us make wise decisions and accept the gift of eternal life that is offered through accepting You as our Lord and personal Savior. Dear Jesus, there are family and friends that I know that have not yet made the wise decision to accept Your love and Your offering of eternal life and peace. Please tender their hardened hearts and convict them of the need to make this vital decision today, as they have no assurance of future opportunities. May my friends who read this today be especially convicted by Your Holy Spirit, and may these words inspire them to not delay such important decisions any longer. I ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, the only One with power to convict the hearts of the lost, AMEN!

The Answer To Our Life of Contradictions

The Bible –The Message

Romans 7:21-25

21    …The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God’s commands, but it’s pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge.

24          I’ve tried everything and nothing helps. I’m at the end of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn’t that the real question?

25          The answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does. He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where I want to serve God with all my heart and mind, but am pulled by the influence of sin to do something totally different.

Thoughts:

I was happy to be reminded of this struggle that Paul faced, because it is very prevalent in my life. And because you have not attained perfection yet either, I would assume that it is probably the same in your life. We struggle daily with having the good intentions of doing what pleases God, yet walking right out of our prayer closets and doing just the opposite. Like Paul, we look back at our day and sometimes say that we are at the end of our rope with mere efforts and ‘want-to’s’ and we wonder if there is anything that could be done. I absolutely love verse 25 where Paul reminds us that the answer to this dilemma is Jesus Christ. For He died for us even while we were sinners and persecuting Him. Now we are reminded that He is the answer to our lives of contradictions. Granted, we can’t personally overcome this type of life, but we must lean on God’s Word where He reminds us that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. So do we dare look into God’s face and say that the sin within us is greater? If we do say that, we are actually saying that he that is in the world is greater than He that is in me, and that’s an incorrect statement. Friends, let’s be careful to give God full freedom in our lives so that He could be our God. Satan is very conniving and can easily overcome our personal weaknesses, but he has no power over our God, amen? Today let us put Satan in his place, behind God. Let’s give God thanks for being our deliverer from the evil of this world and instead leading us to life everlasting in Him.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I need You today. I battle the same challenges that Paul battled, and I need the same help that he did. You have shown me in Your Word how to live. You have set the example for me through the life and character of Your precious Son. Please work steadfastly in my life so that I may overcome the negative pull of the evil one, the sinful nature of this world and the ungodly attitudes of many that I come into contact with. Please touch the hearts of Your people today, so that we may have power to overcome evil, and that we may live according to Your perfect will and design. You are holy, oh God, and if we are to be followers of Your precious Son, then we too must strive for holiness. Thank You for being the source of that power that we need to live like this! For I ask all this in Your most holy name, Jesus my Lord, AMEN!

The Goodness of the Lord!

The Bible –Good News Translation

 Psalm 36:5-9

5           Lord, your constant love reaches the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the skies.

6           Your righteousness is towering like the mountains; your justice is like the depths of the sea. People and animals are in your care.

7           How precious, O God, is your constant love! We find protection under the shadow of your wings.

8           We feast on the abundant food you provide; you let us drink from the river of your goodness.

9           You are the source of all life, and because of your light we see the light.

Thoughts:

I believe that I can just leave the actual Bible verses above for you to meditate on today and you will soon agree with me that we serve such an awesome God! I love the way that David was blessed with adding his thoughts to paper, because his songs of praise is a constant reminder to us that we should look for opportunities to worship, praise and thank our God for His unlimited mercies. Recently a ministry that I subscribe to, Daily Audio Bible, was led into a special day set aside to connect with God. It was called ‘Long Walk’, in which subscribers were asked to take that day away from life’s normal routine and just talk with God, perhaps while on a long walk, and listen intently to His voice. Although I was not in a position to do this, I was blessed by the idea, because we often take so little time to really connect with God outside of our busy, daily chores. Although participants had the opportunity to voice their special times on a Facebook page designed for that purpose, I could only imagine how meaningful that would really be, and the many things we would find to share with God that we ordinarily would not find time for as we rush around each day. These words from David makes me feel like he really had some quality time with God, and that he chose to commit to print the conversations he had with God, so that we may follow in his writings and be reminded of how blessed we really are. Friend, let me encourage you to take time today and bask in the goodness of our God, and while you are soaking it up, please remember to talk to God about what you are feeling, and plan to share that with a friend. Yes, the blessings are coming at you, but by sharing that with someone, they will be encouraged to know that God is still actively working in and among us, amen?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, how can I ever thank You enough for Your tender mercies, Your gracious and undeserving love, Your watchful eye over me so that I may be kept safe and especially encouraged by Your presence. Your goodness is everlasting, and You have chosen to bless even me. Thank You fairest Lord Jesus! No doubt there will be a friend meditating on this devotional today that may not recognize Your love, because their hearts have been hardened by the sin of this world. Please tender their hearts and help them to recognize that Your love extends to even them, if only they would open their hearts and lives to accept Your free gift of eternal life. Lord, I pray that I and Your people will be a praising people and a thankful people who look for reasons to recognize Your goodness. Your love never fails, dear God, and I thanks You and praise You for that! For it is in Your wonderful and matchless name that I pray, AMEN!

Jesus Comes To Us In Our Struggles!

The Bible –Good News Translation

 Mark 6:47-48

47When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, while Jesus was alone on land. 48He saw that his disciples were straining at the oars, because they were rowing against the wind; so some time between three and six o’clock in the morning he came to them, walking on the water.

 Thoughts:

No doubt you are like me, in that we wake up and find ourselves off course from where we expected to find ourselves at a given time in life, and we wonder how on earth do we turn this around or get our lives back on track. Jesus’ disciples were traveling in a boat across the lake to Bethsaida, when a storm arose and blew them off course. Notice that the Word says that Jesus was well aware of the struggle His disciples were going through. That in itself is rewarding because it reminds me that Jesus is aware of what I am going through. He knows where I want to be, but just as important, He knows the struggles of this world that are holding me back and forcing me off course. It may be health, or finances or family issues, or a thousand other things, He knows what we are facing. The following course of action is even more exciting, because the Bible tells me that He arose from what He was doing and went to the disciples – He went to their rescue, to help them. We look at our children, see their struggles, and we want to jump in and help, but often our pride or an attitude of wanting to see them learn a lesson and actually ask for help may prevent us from stepping forward. Jesus already knows our hearts friends, so He knows what we need, when we need it and how badly we need it. I am amazed that in spite of our worldly distractions, yet Jesus comes to our rescue and calms our waters of worry and hopelessness and fills us with His joy and His peace and our hope for eternity with Him in heaven! Wow, what an awesome God that we serve! Amen? Do you know Him personally friend? If not, please consider following the suggestion in the footnote today. Jesus wants to welcome you and care for you just like He did for the disciples in that boat!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for being my Savior. The One who sacrificed life itself for my sin, and to secure my future with You in glory! As reminded in this text today, let me also thank You for coming to my rescue when You noticed that I am running off course because of worldly struggles that distract my walk. This is way more than I could ever expect, and deserve, but thank You for loving me in this way, which is so much more than I can comprehend, based on this world’s standards. I adore You dear Jesus, and I thank You for loving me this much, in spite of my human frailness. Please continue to watch out for me, and I welcome You to come to my rescue at any time. I am sure that my Christian brothers and sisters are also plagued with these same insecurities and challenges in their daily lives. Please allow this study to open their eyes to Your amazing love and concern for them. Lord, may this be a day that some lost person may come across this devotional, and be so reminded of Your love, that they might surrender their life wholly and solely to You. I ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, my Lord, AMEN!

Search for Peace and Work at It!

God’s Word Says….

Psalm 34:14 (NCV)

Stop doing evil and do good.

Look for peace and work for it.

Thoughts…..

If we are not careful, this could be a Psalm that we would hold out for the new Christian, because it tells what must be done to keep a good/open/honest relationship with God. While I believe that all this is true, I also believe that this particular verse is one of those that we should print out and paste it on our computer screens or on our refrigerators – somewhere that we look often and might therefore be reminded often. For this verse tells me that in any scenario, I must look for the ‘peaceful’ solution, and not the solution that might bring hurt, or strife, or division, or revenge, for these are traits of an unsaved person. Have I, or have you been perfect at this? I would be the first to give a resounding, unfortunate, negative response. Way too often we are so hung up on pleasing a brother, or sister or companion, so we do things to please them, instead of following what is being taught here by David. We are to search for and work hard at finding a peaceful resolution – one that pleases God. Friend, I believe that if we follow this teaching alone, we would find more peace in our families, our friendships, our churches and in our workplaces. Imagine at the end of the day you reflect on the evil you did to please a friend, but then you have God upset at you? Please know that no one is perfect, but God. So as we contemplate this thought today, we will realize that there is fault in those that we will deal with today. But before we get too critical of them, consider what they will be dealing with in you – another imperfect person! Friends, let us seek God and allow Him to show us the way that He would have us resolve our differences. I can assure you that He who led David to pen words for our ongoing enrichment and teaching, will direct us towards a peaceful resolution and one that pleases Him. Take a moment and read this short Psalm, I highlighted a lot of it, because God dealt in my life as I read it. I believe that He too will lead you to all truth through His powerful, exciting and revealing Word!

Prayer……

Lord Jesus, Your Word is powerful. Thank You for working in the life of David. A servant who had many challenges and issues, yet You used Him to write so many words of wisdom for even us to follow. Lord, You are so aware of our wicked minds. Yes even us who call You Lord and look to You for direction and wisdom. Thank You for providing these words to redirect us towards living peaceful and loving lives – lives that will exemplify You in every way. We often see how kids’ minds are swayed by television programs, but seldom do we stop and reflect on how we (Your children) allow the evil of this world to sway our decisions and our actions. Please help us to always look for peace, and strive to achieve it in our everyday decisions and actions. People need to see You reflected in us, not more of the same as they see in the world around them. Please give me strength and power to overcome the things of this world and to strive for peace – Godly peace, in all my decisions and actions. May I represent You well, is my humble prayer. And although I need much help personally, I also pray that You would humble the hearts of Your children that may look to You today after meditating on this devotional. May we all dedicate ourselves to be more like You. I ask all this in Your wonderful and majestic name, the Divine Peacemaker, AMEN!

Sin Has No Power Over You

The Bible – New Century Version

Romans 6:12-14

12 Sin must no longer rule in your mortal bodies, so that you obey the desires of your natural self. 13 Nor must you surrender any part of yourselves to sin to be used for wicked purposes. Instead, give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes. 14 Sin must not be your master; for you do not live under law but under God’s grace.

My Thoughts:

Although similar thoughts to that I shared yesterday, I was still touched by the teaching in this text today, that sin has no power over me. It kind’a reminded me of the authority that we have over our children up to the point that they marry and start their own adult life without us. No doubt they look back and praise The Lord for giving them freedom and a life of their own, but at that time we have no power over them. Likewise when we become Christians, the old life (of sin) has no power or control over us as we are now subjects of the kingdom of God and ruled by His Son, Jesus! I believe we can conclude from this that whenever we find ourselves weak and vulnerable to sin, we are actually surrendering our lives to sin, as Paul declares in vs 13. To change this we must follow Paul’s further instructions later in vs 13, we must kneel before God and give ourselves fully to Him, or surrender our lives totally to Him. It will truly amaze us what God can, and will do through a life totally surrendered to Him! Praise the name of The Lord!

My Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I know this is a daily surrender, for during the day while we are in this wicked world, we are challenged with it’s filth and sin. Please help us, Your servants, to ask for a fresh anointing each day, so that we may be so filled with Your Holy Spirit that there will be no room for anything else. I am not a slave to sin, for I left those things behind me. I am a child of the King, and with that royal title comes a promise that You will never leave me or forsake me. Please help me to continually look to You for direction and guidance that You alone offer to Your children, Your subjects, and Your followers that You sacrificed Your Son on Calvary’s cruel cross for. Thank You for loving even me dear Lord! Please touch the hearts of each one that may meditate on this devotional today, that they too may be reminded of the joy and comfort that is theirs. For I ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, my Lord, AMEN!

Why Continue Sinning?

God’s Word Says….

Romans 6:1-2 (NCV)
1 So do you think we should continue sinning so that God will give us even more grace? 2 No! We died to our old sinful lives, so how can we continue living with sin?

My Thoughts…..
No doubt you have heard, or perhaps have used, excuses when you messed up, such as: “the devil made me do it”, or “I just couldn’t help myself” or something similar, but have you ever tried using the ‘fact’ used in these verses by Paul – “Apparently I have not died to my old sinful life”? Friends, in a lot of ways I think about the Christian life like I do married life. When I committed my life to my wife, I didn’t continue to live like a single guy – dating and partying with just any girl! Why then would we allow ourselves to go back to our old sinful selves, if we have truly surrendered our lives to Jesus and asked Him to control our actions so that they might be pleasing to Him? In our married lives it is a thing of commitment and relationship. I would dare say that in our Christian lives we are challenged with the same thing – Commitment to serve God and live according to His commands and His will for our lives. These things are learned from reading and meditating on God’s Word in a very personal and solitute manner. As God speaks to us through His Word, and as we commune with Him through prayer, we build a sweet relationship with Him. These are the things that will help us to stay focused on Him and not slip back into our old sinful lives. Remember that song, Greater Is He that is In Me, Than He that is in the World?

Challenge……
Let me challenge you to check your priorities today. If you are centered around and spending time doing the things of this world, then you will keep on sinning. If instead, you commit yourself to studying God’s Word daily and commune with Him regularly, then you will begin to look and act more like Him, plus you will build such a sweet relationship with Him that you will trust Him to lead you in all decisions and in all walks of life. He will become greater in your life than anything that this world has to offer.

Prayer……
Father, there is nothing I would rather more, than to have so much of You in me, that there is just no room for the evil of this world to sneak in. Please continue to work in my life and help me to stand firm on Your Word and in faith trust you to direct my every thought, word or deed. Lord, I am concerned by the thousands of folk that attend our churches each week and leave feeling like they have met a certain obligation. I pray today that people who are called by your name, will look, act and speak so much like You that this world would know no different. I am blessed in knowing you, but I ask for all this today in the name of Your precious Son, Jesus, AMEN!

Reasons To Praise God!

God’s Word Says….

Psalm 30:11-12 (NCV)

11 You changed my sorrow into dancing. You took away my clothes of sadness, and clothed me in happiness. 12 I will sing to you and not be silent. Lord, my God, I will praise you forever.

My Thoughts…..

I find it amazing how easy it is to pray in times of need or difficulty, for we can quickly drop to our knees pleading our case. However, I have to frequently remind myself to return to my prayer and say thank You, as I receive answers to my prayers. I am also amazed by the beauty of God’s creation, yet we gloat over it like it was something we had anything to do with, or that God had to provide it for us. Friends, I’m sure that you are like me in that we feel good inside when we hear our children say how thankful they are for something we may have done for them, or provided for them. Well, David has shown us in the Psalms that there are so many things that we can be thankful for, and that we should praise God for. Imagine for a moment being in a hospital bed in lots of pain, with a badly broken leg. What then can you praise God for, especially when you see everyone around you walking around on two healthy legs? Perhaps seeing a man pass by without any legs might open your eyes to some praise opportunities? I believe when we truly say like David that God has clothed us in happiness, and that we WILL praise Him forever – without any restrictions, then friend, I believe we will look for ways to praise God and worship Him!

Challenge……

Instead of being a needy people, let’s aim to be a praising people. Yes, we will always be a needy people, because we know that God can and will provide our needs, but please join me in always making ‘praise’ our priority. To take this one step further, let’s be a people of ‘praise’ even when our world around us seem to be collapsing upon us. Let’s commit ourselves to always praise God for the things that we know exists only because of His love and His power, and never feel forced into giving credit to ‘mother nature’ or the ‘man upstairs’. Remember, these are terms used by folk not wanting to ruffle the feathers of those that don’t believe in God. We believe in God, so let’s give credit where it belongs and let the chips fall where they may. God designed and made us; He controls the weather; He blesses us with jobs; He’s the One who blessed us with knowledge, so learn to praise Him, praise Him, and praise Him even more!

Prayer……

Lord Jesus, I’m sorry if I appear ungrateful at times, because I may not have found reason enough to praise You. I am so aware that it is You who made me and You who provide the ability for me to arise and enjoy each beautiful day. When You find reason to give us rain, who am I question or complain? When things seem so out of hand here on this earth, please help me to always look to You as the creator and designer of it all, therefore very capable of handling all that mere man may attempt to interfere in, or try to destroy. Lord, I praise You for just being my divine Savior and Lord, for being my God, my resurrected King and my Deliverer. I pray like David, that I will always find reasons to praise You forever! Please remind folk that may meditate on this devotional today the importance of praising You, even in their storms of life! I praise You and yet ask all this in Your most praise-worthy name, Jesus, my Lord, AMEN!

Peace With God!

God’s Word Says….

Romans 5:1-5 (GNT)

Now that we have been put right with God through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2He has brought us by faith into this experience of God’s grace, in which we now live. And so we boast of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory! 3We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance, 4endurance brings God’s approval, and his approval creates hope. 5This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.

My Thoughts…..

These verses are so packed with good stuff, that it would take a long discourse to celebrate it all. For just a short devotional, I wanted to share a few words with you that I highlighted: a). “Put Right” – please notice that it didn’t say earned, or resulted from any good deed we did. We are put right because of our faith in God. I would highly recommend that we each examine ourselves and recall the day and place that we surrendered our heart to Jesus and placed our faith in Him alone. This is the ONLY WAY friend to be put right with God. b). “Peace” – when we have been ‘put right’ with God there will be an unexplained peace in our lives – peace in, and with God! c). “God’s grace” – can you even imagine that a sinner, filled with enmity towards God, could ever be allowed into His Grace. Friend, this is through ultimate, unselfish, immeasurable love of the Father for His children. I pray that you are experiencing that ‘Grace’ today! d). “The Hope” – as children of God we can boast of that ‘Hope’ that is ours to one day be with Jesus in glory at the right hand of the Father! Praise the name of Jesus! e). “Endurance” – it is so easy to praise the Lord when everything is going good for us, but often we struggle with this characteristic, especially when it seems like the world is against us. I was excited to note that this type of ‘endurance’ or ‘patience’ actually brings “God’s Approval” and this alone is worth the struggles and challenges we endure here on this earth. f). “His love” and “His Gift” – Think about this real good friend: because of our sin God had to send His Son to redeem us. Yet, when we accept Him as Lord, He pours out His love through the precious gift of His Holy Spirit. Wow, who has ever known such a love as that?

Challenge……

Don’t know about you friend, but there is much to celebrate in these verses today! My greatest caution to you is that you not fall into the temptation of wanting to do good, thinking that because you are not an evil person, then you must be a Christian. Friend, to enjoy the peace of God, you must be one of His children. To become a child of His involves a deliberate step by you. For you must humble yourself before Jesus and ask His forgiveness of your sin, and to accept you as His dearly beloved son/daughter. The life that follows is one of peace with God – everlasting peace! Jesus loves you a lot friend! Won’t you consider accepting Him as your Lord and Savior today? Please feel free to drop me a note by email if there is anything I can pray with you about. Jesus loves you, and so do I, friend!

Prayer……

Lord Jesus, thank You for providing the ultimate for us – the ways and means for us to know You as our Lord and Savior, and the promise of eternal life with You in heaven! You are awesome dear God! As I celebrate this today, I am concerned for several of my family members who do not reflect evidence of having accepted You as Lord. Father, I pray that Your Holy Spirit will convict them today, and that they would make a decision for You. I pray asking all this in Your wonderful and majestic name, Jesus my Lord, AMEN!

Confidence in Our Faith

God’s Word Says….

Romans 4:22-25 (NCV)

22 So, “God accepted Abraham’s faith, and that faith made him right with God.” 23 Those words (“God accepted Abraham’s faith”) were written not only for Abraham 24 but also for us. God will accept us also because we believe in the One who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 Jesus was given to die for our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.

My Thoughts…..

I believe that there must be folk who are struggling with confidence in their faith, because God got my attention when I read through this scripture, and even after evaluation and talking to God over the whole text written for me today, I was still directed back to these verses. Friends, I believe it is evident that verse 24 simply states that faith like Abraham had is simply us believing in God – the One who raised Jesus from the dead. Now, I also believe that if you ask most sensible folk on the street if they believe in God, they will say, but of course – that’s the only explanation for all that we see around us. So what is the difference between that kind of faith, and the kind referred to by Paul? This might explain – there was a gentleman who had confidence that he could easily walk a tight rope across the Niagara Falls, but one day he said that he would push a wheelbarrow across on the tight rope – with a person inside of it. There were a lot more people than normal who showed up to watch this new feat. A reporter walked around asking folk, who had seen him do similar feats in the past, if they believed the man was capable of this particular feat. Most of them reply positively, but when asked if they would volunteer to ride in the wheelbarrow, there were a lot fewer who would agree! So did they really have faith that the man could successfully accomplish his challenge? To a degree perhaps, but they weren’t willing to put their life on the line for it! We have so much in our favor to support our faith in God, for there are so many examples in the Bible on the evidence of faith and all that it produced. Read the story of Abraham and how as a childless father, yet he became the father of many nations because of his ‘faith’. Moses stood at the edge of the Red Sea with thousands of followers behind him and when, through faith, he followed God’s instructions, he and his people saw a way paved for them where there was no other way. There are many more examples of faith in action friends. There is no need to doubt, just listen to God and ‘BELIEVE’!

Challenge……

Friends, I believe that you are living an unfulfilled life without faith. Let me explain – if you are doubting in your faith in God, how could you possibly show others the true wisdom, love and faith of the God that you serve? You must be firm in your faith in order to convince others that your faith, or your God, is real. Having this kind of faith is not just happen-chance. You must draw close to God and allow Him to draw close to you, friend. Meditate on His Word, and speak with Him regularly. Build and maintain a relationship with God so that you may know Him and trust Him in a personal way. When witnessing to a friend, your testimony is more valuable than gold. They may doubt what you share with them from the Old Testament, but when you tell them about what God has done in your life, how could they possibly question or doubt? So let me encourage you to meditate on those times where you have seen God at work in your life, then use them as memorials that you can reflect back on any time Satan comes knocking with his evil and deceptive ways. Also use these memorials when you speak with a friend about accepting the Lord, for these are personal, and although as real as the results we see in the Bible, they are spoken from a personal experience. This will strengthen your faith friend, and it will serve to strengthen the faith of your friends as you witness to them. As always, please ask God to miraculously work in and through you as you go out to be His witness.

Prayer……

Lord Jesus, there is so much evidence of Your existence, and Your handiwork, and Your mighty power, yet we doubt. Please forgive us for our lack of faith. I believe that it is impossible to win others to the kingdom, if we have trouble believing, or having little faith, in the One whom we are promoting. So Father, I come before You not telling You anything that is new to You, but simply asking that You might fill me with the confidence of Your mighty hand, Your powerful love and Your miraculous works. I pray that You may work on my most inner being to help me gain the faith that I need to be a better witness for You, especially to those in my circles who are dying and going to Hell because they may not have seen real evidence of a ‘real Christian’. Please help me to turn this around in my life, and as my friends meditate on this devotional today, I pray that You may invoke Your Holy Spirit to be very active in their minds so that they too may speak to You about the needs in their lives. Please bear with, and help, us to overcome the weaknesses in our lives, is my humble and heartfelt prayer that I ask in Your precious name, Lord Jesus, AMEN!
