From:

Psalm 33:13-16 (CEV)

Text:

13 The Lord looks at the world 14 from his throne in heaven, and he watches us all.
15 The Lord gave us each a mind, and nothing we do can be hidden from him.
16 Mighty armies alone cannot win wars for a king; great strength by itself cannot keep a soldier safe.
OBSERVATION:
David was part of a nation that God cherished as His own, yet David saw that man was trying every man made scheme to find happiness, safety and security. However, David had found extreme faith in His Lord, who had provided for him in so many ways, that it became evident to him that it was not the mighty armies that saved a nation, it was not the noble kings with all the smarts, but it was God almighty who looked out after His own. Isn’t that a noble thought for so many nations today who struggle so deeply in so many ways?
APPLICATION:
Isn’t it interesting how nations will try one strategic move after another to win an election, or to govern a nation, while all the time God has all of the answers already and just waiting for leaders to look to Him? David’s country was no different to ours, or many others just like us. We have the book of instructions and we know the Master who holds the key to all of life’s challenges, yet we fool ourselves into thinking that we could do this alone. Think about it friends, God not only has a prophet’s eye into what the future holds, but He knows right down to the heart of our leaders who make decisions and steer this great big ship – our country. Now before you start thinking that this Scripture today revolves only around country leaders, I must also challenge you to apply this to all phases of your life. Your family role, your work role, your church role, and just in case you are thinking that you absolutely have no leadership roles, let me remind you that others are watch your Christian role, or lack thereof. Some young person might be making decisions based on what they saw you do. They may be stirred to a closer walk with God, based on the godly person they have seen in you. Our God is mighty and awesome in every way, and if we are to represent Him and imitate Him in every aspect of our lives, then we must depend on Him daily to be: our Guide through this life’s journey; our Protector when trials and strife comes our way; our Deliverer who will keep us away from the temptations of the devil and temptation of every kind; our Comforter who will be there for us when we feel all alone and unloved by this world. Our God is real, friends, and He wants a relationship with you, so that you may overcome this world and appreciate the gift of His Son that He allowed to be crucified so that we may have life eternally with Him in heaven!
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, thank You for being our Master, Lord and Savior. Thank You for the reminder from Your servant David in this Scripture today. We can again today rejoice and be glad, for we know who holds tomorrow and who holds our hand! Precious Lord, please touch our leaders today – leaders in our homes, our churches, our work places, our states and our countries. Please draw our leaders to a clear vision of Your power, Your grace and Your love for all mankind. Allow these leaders to lead as directed in your Word and in accordance to Your will, so that the world might know and believe on Your precious Son, Jesus. AMEN!

Confident in Our Awesome God!

From:

Psalm 18:25-29 (Easy-to-Read Version)

Text:

25 Lord, you are faithful to those who are faithful.
You are good to those who are good.
26 You never do wrong to those who have done no wrong.
But you outsmart the wicked, no matter how clever they are.
27 You help those who are humble,
    but you humiliate the proud.
28 Lord, you provide the flame for my lamp.
You, God, turn the darkness around me into light.
29 With your help I can defeat an army.
If my God is with me, I can climb over enemy walls.
OBSERVATION:
As I read this Scripture and meditated on how David must have felt when He worshipped God with these thoughts, I could only think that he was recognizing a great work that God had just completed in his life. So here David is recognizing God for who He is and for all that He has done. This is so important to the child of God to return to God and praise Him for all that He has done! Applicable to us today? You bet ‘cha!
APPLICATION:
Ever notice that our personal prayer lives are filled with our lists of wants and needs? Why even at church we tend to really concentrate on the ‘needs’ of our brothers and sisters way more than we do our expressions of praise to our awesome God, and hearts that should always be filled with thanksgiving. We can learn a lot from David here, because after losing himself in praise and thanksgiving, he shares with us how this outlook on  God and his expressions of praise to God, gives him confidence to defeat a whole army and the supernatural power to climb right over enemy walls. Is this always easy for us? Absolutely not. I recently had a friend who had a child admitted to hospital with very special medical needs, could the parents truly sing the praise song in these verses? It would have been challenging while in the middle of the unforeseen battle by the doctors to save that child’s life, but for the parents whose hearts are filled with praise before the hospital stay, they would have confidence that God would protect, heal and love their daughter, and bless and direct doctors also. Friends, we have no idea what’s in store for us just around the corner of another day, have you been praising God and reinforcing the confident assurance that He is always there for you? Remember, with God’s Holy Spirit inside of you and God in control, you can do ALL things! Face the day with that kind of assurance, and prepare your mind for whatever comes your way, knowing that Our God Is An Awesome God!
PRAYER:
Lord Jesus, just one of Your humble servants bowing at Your feet once again to say thank You for being so good to me! You are awesome in all of Your ways, and more powerful than any situation my readers and I might face today! Thank You for being so good to us! Lord, with the words of David we can also say today that greater is He that is in us, than He that is in the world, and with that confidence face our giants today knowing that You can empower us to climb over any enemy wall and win any and all battles that Satan may send our way. So to You I surrender all, and say thank You for Your protection, guidance, love and wisdom, AMEN!

How BIG Is Our God?

May I encourage you to get your spiritual ‘Nuggets’ to start your day off right? Pretty amazing that our awesome God would consider feeding even us with His Word! May I encourage you to read the whole devotional, and look for a blessing, friend!………

Today’s Bible Reference: Isaiah 40:12–14
Today’s Bible Text: 12 Who measured the oceans in the palm of his hand? Who used his hand to measure the sky? Who used a bowl to measure all the dust of the earth? Who used scales to measure the mountains and hills? 13 Who could know the Lord’s mind? Who could be his teacher or give him advice? 14 Did the Lord ask for anyone’s help? Did anyone teach him to be fair? Did anyone teach him knowledge? Did anyone teach him to be wise?
The Bible Translation: Easy-To_Read Version (ERV)

My Take Away: If you were preparing your heart to meet with someone, to encourage them, and to really share the power and the width and the breadth of our God, where would you begin?  When you prepare yourself to kneel at the feet of Jesus and place your petitions before Him, how convinced are you that He could handle your needs? In verse 31 of this same chapter, Isaiah shares the following:

But those who trust in the Lord will become strong again. They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak. They will walk and not get tired.

Friends, this scripture today is intended to remind us that no matter how burdened we are about circumstances, or about our needs, or about our finances, or how needy we or our family members really are, we have a great BIG awesome God who has successfully managed to handle a whole lot more than any ‘mountain’ we may be facing! Look at the examples given by Isaiah in verses 12-14 above and convince yourself of the supernatural God who loves you, who cares for you, who ‘goes to bat’ every day for you, and know that there is nothing too big for Him. Furthermore, be reminded that He loves you individually, therefore He wants to help you in every way possible! So don’t hold back friend, take your needs before God and be ready to praise Him as you evidence His hand at work in miraculous ways. He’s just  t h a t  BIG!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we bow before You in adoration of who You are, and for all You have done for us. Though so unworthy, still I’m a child of the King! Praise be to my almighty, all-powerful, ever-loving, incredible great BIG God! Please continue to bless Your kids again today, especially since we have been reminded of your outstanding power and magnitude. We will be eternally grateful dear God, for we ask these things in faith, and through the powerful name of our almighty Savior, AMEN!

God the Creator

THE HOLY BIBLE (New Living Translation – Genesis 1:1-3): In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

THOUGHTS: Friends, I just completed my study through the entire Bible and found that God was not only the Creator and Author of life and all aspects of this earth and living forms, but He is still Savior and Redeemer of our sins, and is actively involved in every aspect of every detail in keeping this world going as we know it. You see, He has an eternal purpose for us, and He wants us to survive the evil and hardships of this old world! At the end of the Book, I found where He has a much better place prepared for us, praise to the Almighty, the King of glory! What I find exciting as I begin my journey again through this great Book, is the reminder right up front that “in the beginning was God”. In other words, nothing existed before Him, and based upon what I shared about the end of the Book, all roads for the believer in Jesus Christ, leads to eternity with Him! What an exciting journey! For the non-Christian, may I encourage you to seek Jesus while He is available to you! I will not go into detail about what happens if you don’t, but simply remember two key words: Satan and Hell. Unfortunately you are headed towards an ugly finish unless you humble yourself before Jesus Christ and accept the free gift of eternal life that only He can provide. Please look deep into my ‘Footnote’ for details on how you might turn your life around. To the Christian Brother or Sister meditating on this devotional, may I encourage you to be faithful, and to place your hand in the hand of the One who created everything from nothing at all? Our God had the power to take a formless, dark, empty planet and create the beauty that you and I enjoy today! Can you even imagine that? Can’t you imagine how God can easily handle our problems, even though they may seem so overwhelming to us and impossible to overcome in our eyes? Won’t you trust Him with your whole life today friend? I’m sure He can handle it!

PRAYER: Father God, thank You for reassuring me of Your awesome power in creating everything – from nothing at all. You provided such peace and tranquility to calm us and even the foods for us to eat. As I begin my study back at the beginning of Your great Book, thank You for this great reminder of how You were there before anything else was, and that You, who had the power to create everything, can be trusted to handle my problems – big or small in my eyes. I serve such an awesome and all powerful God! Please impact the mind and lives of those who will meditate on this devotional today so that they too might be encouraged, for we place such pressure on ourselves when we cannot handle all of life’s challenges. We are reminded that nothing is too big for You oh Lord, including our problems, if only we will surrender them to You. I respectfully ask that Your perfect will be accomplished in our lives today, for I ask all this in the strong name of Jesus, AMEN!
